A bridge

In 2005 I took a circuitous cycle trip from Kenya to Mozambique, toward the end of which I crossed the Dona Ana bridge. As far as I know it  is the longest railway bridge in Africa - although at that time it had been adapted for motor vehicle traffic.



Since this is one of my favourite photographs from that trip, I was oddly pleased when I got my review copy of Charles Manski's new book, Public Policy in an Uncertain World, to see the front cover:


I like to think there is some symbolism to this since I have learned a lot from Manski's work.
